Acrobatics is a skill focused around moving gracefully, reducing fall damage and avoiding attacks.

Experience gain[edit]

Experience in Acrobatics is gained by surviving falls and successfully rolling on the ground or dodging attacks.

The experience gained is based on the distance traveled during the fall, as long as it is not fatal. Surviving falls from near-death heights will reward greater amounts of experience, as well as making use of Graceful Roll to take less damage.

The amount of experience gained by dodging an attack is obtained by multiplying the damage dodged by 12.

The amount of experience gained by falling is obtained by multiplying the damage taken from the fall by 12. If a roll occurs, the damage is multiplied by 8 instead. Players wearing boots enchanted with Feather Falling earn double experience when falling.

Super ability[edit]

Acrobatics does not currently have a super ability.

Active sub-skill[edit]


Rolling is an active sub-skill with a passive component.

It provides a chance to negate fall damage based on the player's Acrobatics skill level. At level 50, the player has a 50% chance to prevent damage, or 100% if Graceful Roll is activated.

The chance for success is scaled against the Acrobatics skill level in a linear curve. Every level increases the chance to roll successfully by 1%. Therefore, it will always trigger at level 100.

A normal roll can be transformed into a Graceful Roll by sneaking while falling. Doing so will double the odds to roll and the amount of damage prevented.

  • Rolling will not prevent death if the fall would have been fatal. Rolling will only prevent up to a certain amount of damage, which is configurable by server admins.

Passive sub-skill[edit]



Dodge cuts incoming damage in half.


Dodge unlocks at level 2 or 20 for Retro Mode

Dodge Notes[edit]

Dodge will not activate if the incoming damage would be lethal, this check is done before dodge reduces incoming damage.

Dodge has a cooldown before it will award XP if the player recently respawned from a death.

The amount of XP earned is equal to the amount of incoming damage multiplied by the dodge XP multiplier in experience.yml (default 120)

Dodge reduces the players damage from various harmful sources. There is a config option to allow Dodge to work for lightning strikes.

Acrobatics Notes[edit]

  • When teleporting, there is a time window of 5 seconds during which the player is unable to earn Acrobatics experience.


  • Roll and Graceful Roll used to be considered separate skills until 2.1.0 when they got merged.
  • nossr50 has plans to rework Acrobatics into a different skill during the Overhaul Era. The name is likely to change but the theme will be similar.
